priya and chris {tie the knot part 1} daniel stowe botanical garden

Priya and Chris came to me in the 11th hour of their wedding planning process {well, more like four months out, but you'll get the point} and said that they were having not one, but two weddings. You may remember this adorable couple from: here.

They wanted to host one Christian wedding {a low-key event with Southern food and sunflowers for close family and friends} as well as an Indian wedding that was to be the larger than life, over-the-top affair.

Oh, and they did not have a photographer, florist, videographer or any of their design elements chosen yet. Yikes!

Priya and I hit the road running and began planning both wedding days.

Today I am sharing images from the first day at Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden. What an absolutely gorgeous day it was! Hot!!! But gorgeous. This was the laid-back day. The day where Priya got to wear her traditional white dress for her Christian ceremony.

Please enjoy some images from Day 1 captured by the ridiculously talented Crystal Stokes Photography. I can honestly say that I see A LOT of father/daughter interaction on wedding days-- but Crystal captured Priya and her father, Gautam so beautifully that I can not help but to think of just how much I love my dad to pieces {please excuse me while I go call him to tell him just that!}

And hold on to your hat for Day 2 images from the Indian wedding-- CRAZY gorgeous! But you will just have to wait a little longer for those...

Thank you to all of the vendors that made this event run as smoothly as it did!

kim and stephen {tie the knot} the duke mansion

I don't know about you, but this summer has been flying by! How is it almost September?!
Kim and Stephen were married on June 22nd on a hot, yet gorgeous day at the Duke Mansion. Such a sweet couple!

Kim and her girls started off the day with some yoga in the courtyard at the Duke, and honestly, I think that I will be suggesting this to all future brides. Nothing like getting a little zen in before walking down the aisle.

For design, Kim wanted romantic and soft, but lots of blue. So we brought in beautiful draping for the pergola as well as on the front porch. It really added a softness to the already stunning Duke Mansion.

Please enjoy some photos taken by Stephanie at Indigo Photography.

Thank you to all of the fantastic vendors that made this wedding beautiful.

catherine and mike {inspiration}

For years I have wrestled with the idea of whether or not to share client's design/inspiration boards. And until now, I have not shared them publicly as I felt like they were my intellectual property that was intended for client's eyes only.

So after much {internal} deliberation, as well as potential clients asking to see design boards, I have decided to start sharing boards...at least for the time being.  I figure with the Pinterest-Instagram-Twitter-infused world that we live in, it's what people want to see.

So, if I can't beat em, why not join em? Right?

Here is the inspiration behind Catherine and Mike's Foundation for the Carolinas wedding. While it is not until next June, we are already knee-deep in design. Think traditional, yet with a modern twist. You will just have to wait until next June to see it all come together.

Whatcha think?

with love.
