I can't believe that I am writing this blog post on maternity leave. Truly insane! My baby boy is here and {currently napping}, so I am taking full advantage by blogging my first post as a new mama. But more on my little man later...
Over the years, I have managed many weddings at The Duke Mansion. Last season was a record for me as I managed six at the Duke in one year. Although, even with much time spent at the mansion, I had not yet planned a wedding there with an outdoor reception. In fact, it was on my goal list when Elizabeth came in for a consultation late last year. Her vision was to have dinner on the new lawn and I was 100% on board.
The weather was perfect on June 14th as Elizabeth and Steven were married at Myers Park Methodist Church and, as planned, followed with their cocktail reception and dinner outside as the sun set on the Duke. I can now mark a goal off my list...and while it took nearly four years to happen...it was totally worth the wait!
Please enjoy some photos from Elizabeth and Steven's day, photographed by Dan Klutz Photography.
As always, a special thank you to the vendors that made this day a success!

with love.

catherine and mike {tie the knot} foundation for the carolinas
It was their love of numbers that brought these two accountants together. It was our love of all things pretty that brought them to Favor Me Events.
Catherine and Mike were married on June 28th at Covenant Presbyterian Church with their reception at The Foundation for the Carolinas. You may remember this sweet couple from here. With five weddings at The Foundation for the Carolinas on the Favor Me Events books for this year, it has quickly become one of my favorite venues in Charlotte. If you are not familiar with the space, I think you will see why I love it so much...
Please enjoy some photos from Catherine and Mike's {rainy, yet beautiful} day by CarolineRo Photography.

meghan and patrick {engagement session}
Hello, Wednesday! And hello to another beautiful Favor Me Events couple!
Please meet Meghan and Patrick. This sweet duo is set to marry next May at one of my favorite Charlotte venues-- The Duke Mansion!
Meghan is a girl after my own heart. Not only is she extremely organized-- she is a girl who knows what she wants! Meghan came to me envisioning a romantic dinner on the Duke Mansion lawn... think twinkly lights, lush floral and candle light--lots of candle light! Oh, how I can't wait for this wedding!
In the mean time, please enjoy some photos from their engagement session with another mama-to-be, Allison Kuhn from Allison Kuhn Photography.
Meghan and Patrick, May will be here before we know it! So happy to be planning along side you!
with love.

katie and tj {engagement session}
Yikes! To say that I have dropped the ball on the 'blogging ball' is an understatement. I am not going to lie, pregnancy while being a business owner and due during the busiest time of the year is no joke. While I absolutely LOVE being pregnant and LOVE that I am about to be a mommy-- I have to admit that the timing of all of it has made my life interesting to say the least. This baby boy already has a sense of humor!
On another note, please meet Favor Me Events couple, Katie and TJ. This adorable mid-western couple will be getting married on August 23rd at The Foundation for the Carolinas. Katie and I have been planning and designing her day for months now-- and I honestly can not wait to see all of it come together. A lover of greenery and lush florals-- think 'inside meets outside' for their wedding inspiration.
Please enjoy some photos from their recent engagement session with the talented duo {Candice and Dan} behind The Beautiful Mess Photography.
Katie and TJ, I am so, so, so excited for your wedding day!
with love.

ashleigh and mike {tie the knot} foundation for the carolinas
Happy Monday! Boy, it feels like forever since I have blogged {maybe because it has been- eek!}
But, what better way to start off this beautiful {soon to be very warm} Monday by blogging about a beautiful {but oh so cold} Valentine's Day wedding.
Some of you who follow Favor Me Events may remember Ashleigh and Mike from here or perhaps from the Facebook and Instagram updates just days before their February 14th wedding.
If not, in a nutshell, Ashleigh and Mike were scheduled to be married on February 14th at The Foundation for the Carolinas. However, the day prior to the wedding {their rehearsal day} happened to also be one of the worst winter storms that Charlotte had seen for quite some time. Something that none of us were prepared for, and certainly never would have guessed would happen in February...in Charlotte.
As the snow came pouring down around Charlotte, Ashleigh and Mike made the brave decision to postpone their Valentine's Day wedding {something that Ashleigh had always wanted as a little girl} to the next day in order to make sure that guests and vendors were safe and able to make it to Uptown without issue. I can honestly say- this was a first for me!
By pure luck, all of the vendors that were associated with their wedding were not only available for the next day, but they all were totally on board and wanted to make Ashleigh and Mike's wedding day even that more special. And in my {perhaps biased opinion}, we did! As if on cue, the sun came out on the 15th, melting the majority of the snow and making way for a gorgeous winter wedding day.
Please enjoy some photos from Ashleigh and Mike's February 15th wedding by Kristin Vining Photography.
A HUGE thank you to all of the vendors that pulled together without question and made Ashleigh and Mike's wedding day a success! {Soap box moment: This is why it is SO important to hire professional vendors for your wedding!!!}
Venue: Foundation for the Carolinas
Photographer: Kristin Vining Photography
Videographer: Crown Alley Films
Florist: Lily Greenthumb's Floral
Rentals: Party Reflections
Lighting/Draping: Sterling by Design
Caterer: Best Impressions
DJ: Vinny with Split Second Sound
Stationery/Signage: Olive Paper
Cake: The Bakery Shoppe
Candy Station: All You Can Treat
Photobooth: ShutterBooth
Hair/Makeup: Lindsey Regan Thorne with Be Pretty
Ashleigh and Mike- thank you for allowing me to be a part of your special day and trusting me to move your wedding date. I know it wasn't a true 'Valentine's Day' wedding-- but you you have quite the story to share!
