michele and les {tie the knot} the duke mansion

It feels like forever ago that I shared Les and Michele's holiday themed engagement photos {see them here} and now, in 100 degree weather, I am posting their wedding photos.

Michele and Les were married at The Duke Mansion on June 2nd in an intimate ceremony with their closest friends and family. Les' two daughters were not only bridesmaids, but participated in a symbolic candle lighting ceremony as they welcomed Michele into their family.

Michele chose variations of light pink and mauves for her colors, interspersed with metallics. The color combo worked beautifully at the Duke.

In true Northern style {Les is originally from Philadelphia}, the couple opted for a plated/seated dinner.

Once dinner was served and the yummy cake was cut, guests took to the dance floor for a night of celebration.

Please enjoy some photos by the talented husband and wife duo, Aaron and Kristin Byrum of Kristin Byrum Photography.

Thank you to the following wonderful vendors that made this evening a success!

fox news charlotte {press}

For anyone that knows me, they know that journalism was {and will always be} my first passion. I went to school for journalism and always thought that I would be anchoring for The Today Show.

Clearly-- that never happened!

So, when Jenna Caiazzo, anchor at Fox News Charlotte reached out to me in regards to an interview on diverse couples in Charlotte- I said, "heck ya!" I reached out to one my favorite former clients, Robin {who you may remember from here}, to help me with the interview. She did a great job!!

For the full interview, please see below.

Jenna, our Summer intern took some behind-the-scenes shots {while acting as wrangler for Benny}...so, please enjoy!

linda and nate {tie the knot} bentley's on 27th

...And another week begins. Yikes-- I feel like Summer is just flying by!

I have been meaning to share these images from Linda and Nate's May 6th wedding at Bentley's on 27th. Both ceremony and reception were held there- overlooking Charlotte on a beautiful night.

This pair shares a love for crazy antics and all things Cross Fit. I am pretty sure these two could totally out run, lift and bench press me (or really any physical activity for that matter).

While the ceremony was short and sweet {just as Linda and Nate had intended}-- the party lasted all night with Linda, right at home, in the middle of the dance floor.

Please enjoy Linda and Nate's photos- courtesy of Bella Loren Fotografica {fellow Cross Fit folks}.

Thank you to all of the vendors that made this night a success!

Nate and Linda, thank you for allowing me to be a part of your special day. Continued peace and happiness to you both.

erin and jonathan {engagement session}

Happy Wednesday!

Meet Favor Me Events couple, Erin and Jonathan!

Even though they both attended Johnson and Wales University at the same time, it took a chance encounter at an Uptown bar to bring them together. Erin believes this meeting to be lucky, as her grandparents met at a bar and have been happily married for 50 years.

This sweet duo is set to be married on August 18th at The Great Aunt Stella Center, with the reception at the Mint Museum Uptown. I have a special place in my heart for their wedding date, as it is my parents' wedding anniversary. So, I happen to think that their wedding date is pretty lucky as well!

Please enjoy some photos from their recent e-session by Anna Naphtali Photography.

I am so looking forward to your wedding day, Erin and Jonathan!

a coney island wedding

Allow me to begin by apologizing for not giving the blog any lovin' as of lately. But, things have been pretty busy {and exciting} here at Favor Me Events. So, I think we have good reason to be lax in the blog department. At least that's what I am telling myself...

If you haven't already heard our good news, take a moment to read this article: here.

This weekend is my first weekend home in months. I have been traveling like crazy for work {as well as one weekend for pleasure}. I returned to my old stompin' grounds in NYC to see my dear friend, Ashley get married to her long-time beau, Joe. And it was amazing!

This was unlike any wedding I have ever planned, let alone witnessed in my lifetime. For as long as I have known Ashley, she has always said that her wedding day would take place on the Wonder Wheel in Coney Island, Brooklyn. So, when I received her invite in March, I knew she was serious.

The day was gorgeous! A sunny and warm NYC afternoon. Unfortunately, because it was so nice, the people at Coney Island decided to take the opportunity to paint the Wonder Wheel- making it impossible to host Ashley and Joe's ceremony. But, being the carefree spirit that Ashley is- she grabbed her megaphone and announced to all guests that the ceremony would simply be moved steps away to the boardwalk.

After the ceremony, guests decided to take the opportunity to enjoy a cold beer and an iconic Nathan's hotdog. And there you had it- an impromptu cocktail reception! Ashley, being the prepared bride that she was, brought her own booze.

After while, it was time to move the party in to Manhattan {SoHo to be exact} for food and dancing. Guests walked from the boardwalk at Coney Island, squeezed into one subway car and headed to the city. It takes a lot to turn a true New Yorker's head...but Ashley and Joe managed to cause quite the scene that day.

The reception was held at The Housing Works Bookstore in SoHo. This bookstore is a part of The Housing Works non-profit that raises funds for New Yorkers living with HIV/AIDS. Leave it to Ashley and Joe to have a wedding for a cause!  The bookstore it self is adorable, with a fun bar area and great, old bookcases in every nook and cranny.

Ashley did a great job with incorporating the carnival theme to the bookstore. I would have to say one of my favorite things was the Dynamite Box- which acted as their guestbook. Guests were encouraged to write notes on the back of vintage postcards {featuring Coney Island} and place them in a wooden box. The box was sealed the night of the wedding and will be opened on Ashley and Joe's first anniversary. I am absolutely keeping this idea in my file of "things to use for future clients..."

All in all, the night was awesome! It was so great to see old friends and reminisce. Anyone who claims that New Yorkers are rude, clearly has not met this group. It was also great to be back in the city-- even for a short time. Oh, and I can't forget to mention that Ashley's shoes were to die for {Vivian Westwood jelly shoes}.

Congratulations, dear Ashley and Joe. I wish you both a lifetime of love and happiness! Love you both to pieces!

jenna hege {welcome!}

Whew!

There is no shortage of activity and exciting things happening over at Favor Me Events. But that is news for another day...

Today I would like to take a moment to welcome the newest member {at least for a little while}- our Summer intern, Jenna Hege. Jenna is currently going to UNC at Charlotte and is expected to graduate this August with her BA in Mass Communications.

I asked Jenna to write a few things about herself that she thinks that we should know. Here is what she wrote...

"Hey y'all! I’m Jenna, the new intern at Favor Me Events. Over the next couple of months I’d like to give you the inside scoop as to what goes on behind the scenes at FME. From lavish uptown weddings to country affairs, I will give you a sneak peak into the world of event planning and my role as an intern....But before we get started, allow me to tell you a bit about myself.

Though I was raised in a one stoplight town, I consider myself a city girl. I love being around friends and family and will talk to anyone. I enjoy traveling, dancing, baking and learning new things...currently Italian...Buongiorno! Red Velvet cupcakes and Cadbury eggs are my weakness...Snow days, animals, and Christmas music are just a few of my favorite things....I think Lady Gaga rocks and Anthropologie to be one of the best stores ever!

 If I could live anywhere else, it would be NYC; any other time period, the 20’s. I am a firm believer in quality over quantity and feel that my religious beliefs and laughter are what keep me going. Now enough about me...let the interning begin!"

Welcome, Jenna!  We are lucky to have you on-board at FME!

with love.
