baby markey's shower {personal}

I am just going to say it. I can't believe that I have a two month old. Seriously crazy.

Charles Andrew Markey was born on August 27th after an extremely long journey. If you are not familiar with my story, please feel free to read just how far we have come: here.

A few months before Charlie was born, three amazing friends {Deb Hall, Sara Shelor and Lauren Rosenau} offered to throw me a shower. I graciously accepted and was not told much in the planning process other than the venue and when to arrive. As a planner, it killed me not to know the details. I wondered which linens they had chosen. Which florals. The menu.

What Deb, Sara and Lauren planned for me and 'Baby Markey' was more than I could have imagined. It was stunning. Seriously stunning.

Beyond the linens, the floral, the menu- there was heart. These girls {along with 30 others} made me feel so loved that day- a day that I was not entirely sure would ever happen for me.

To everyone involved, from planning to attending-- thank you. I love you all.

Please enjoy some photos courtesy of Lauren Rosenau Photography.

Thank you to all of the amazing vendors/friends who provided their services for this special day.

katie and tj {tie the knot} foundation for the carolinas

I have been soooo excited to share this wedding, so I am just going to jump right in!

You may remember this couple from their e-session, here

Katie and TJ are mid-western transplants who made their home in Charlotte and decided to get married here as well. Katie loves greenery. Like LOVES it. TJ just wanted to make Katie happy. You guys, this couple just couldn't get much sweeter.

Katie and TJ were married on August 23rd at The Foundation for the Carolinas. We utilized the same space for both ceremony and reception and simply 'flipped' the space while guests moved into another part of the gallery during the cocktail reception. Side note: I get so many questions from couples planning their weddings if 'flipping' the space actually works. It totally does...{with the right set of professional vendors that is!}

Please enjoy some images from Katie and TJ's wedding, courtesy of Candice and Dan of The Beautiful Mess Photography.

A special thank you to the 'A Team' of vendors who made Katie and TJ's wedding a success...

elizabeth and steven {tie the knot} the duke mansion

I can't believe that I am writing this blog post on maternity leave. Truly insane! My baby boy is here and {currently napping}, so I am taking full advantage by blogging my first post as a new mama. But more on my little man later...

Over the years, I have managed many weddings at The Duke Mansion.  Last season was a record for me as I managed six at the Duke in one year. Although, even with much time spent at the mansion, I had not yet planned a wedding there with an outdoor reception. In fact, it was on my goal list when Elizabeth came in for a consultation late last year. Her vision was to have dinner on the new lawn and I was 100% on board.

The weather was perfect on June 14th as Elizabeth and Steven were married at Myers Park Methodist Church and, as planned, followed with their cocktail reception and dinner outside as the sun set on the Duke.  I can now mark a goal off my list...and while it took nearly four years to happen...it was totally worth the wait!

Please enjoy some photos from Elizabeth and Steven's day, photographed by Dan Klutz Photography.

As always, a special thank you to the vendors that made this day a success!
