Happy Labor Day weekend! I don't know about you, but I am SO ready for cooler days, pumpkins and sweater weather. I feel like this summer flew by, and fall weddings are right around the corner. So let's enjoy the last of the summer days with one of my favorite summer weddings at The Foundation for the Carolinas. Ellen, an attorney and Alex, a computer guy who moonlights as a musician (or perhaps it's the other way around!) live right outside of New York City but chose to have their wedding in Charlotte- where Ellen grew up. Side note: oddly enough, Alex actually grew up not too far from my husband in Long Island and actually went to the same high school as him-- just a few years a part. Small world! If you can't tell, Ellen wanted color, color and more color. Classic and simple in linens and attire (black and white) with a huge pop color in the floral. I think we delivered!
My highlight of the night? When Alex and his equally musically-inclined cousin, Julie sang with the band. Ah-mazing! Because of the distance as well as Ellen's hectic work schedule, I got to work closely with Ellen's parents, Kathy and Bob, during the planning process...and what a treat they were! Seriously - I am so lucky for attracting some pretty awesome clients and their families. Please enjoy some photos from Ellen and Alex's day, courtesy of the talented (and not mention kindest couple, Candace and Dan) at The Beautiful Mess Photography.
How is it September already?! Seriously? I feel like I just wrapped this gorgeous wedding at The Duke Mansion from May. You may remember this sweet couple, Meghan and Patrick from their engagement session here. After a traditional Catholic ceremony at St. Gabriel's Catholic Church, guests were invited to a black tie optional reception at The Duke Mansion. Dinner in the lawn, under the stars and 1,600 (to be exact) market lights. It was pretty magical, if I can so myself. Disclaimer: This wedding was the last wedding at the Duke to be able to host a dinner on the back lawn. Now that the side lawn has been laid with brick, all outdoor receptions must be held there. But no need to worry-- it's just as beautiful if you haven't already checked it out! Please enjoy some images from their day, courtesy of the crazy-talented, Allison Kuhn Photography.
You guys!!!! I have been so excited to share these photos with you from Vanessa and David's Ritz Carlton wedding this past May. You may remember their gorgeous couple from their engagement session from here. After their ceremony at The Cathedral of St. Patrick - cocktails, dinner and dancing were enjoyed by all back at the Ritz. During the planning process, Vanessa lived in Aruba while David lived here in Charlotte. David is orginally from Venezula, while Vanessa was born in Canada- but has Lebanese and Latin roots. Needless to say, the mix of culture, language and music was absolutely electric. The couple even chose to have a bi-lingual DJ so everyone could feel welcome.
Being that most guests had to travel far, the wedding was small- yet intimate. I am not bias, but I happen to think it was perfect. We were even able to adjust the size of the ballroom by bringing in the draping so the space did not feel too big for the number of guests. If I have said it once, I will say it again-- I LOVE draping! It was a hard task just choosing a few photos to truly represent the day, so please enjoy just a small taste from the day, courtesy of the brilliant Lauren Rosenau Photography.
