melissa and scott e-session {styling}

As with all of my e-session styling clients, one of my first questions to Melissa was,
"So, how did Scott propose?" Melissa hesitated and asked me if I wanted the real or the PG version.  Of course I opted for the real version.

Scott had planned a surprise romantic evening at home complete with rose petals, wine and a bubble bath {Melissa's favorite!} Once she told me that the actual proposal took place in a tub, I knew that I had to get my hands on one for their engagement session with

Critsey Rowe Photography.

And after much searching, success! Totally worth it by the way... I just love the tub shots!!

Melissa and Scott also share the love of wine. And while they do not normally have times for picnics in the park, they both decided that after the shoot they would start to make time for them. How gorgeous is Melissa by the way?

Great working with you both! Congratulations on your engagement!

bethany and caleb {once wed} part two

As promised, I am sharing with you the second shoot of Bethany and Caleb's Once Wed photography session with Jose Villa, styled by Joy Thigpen.

These two wasted no time once getting engaged in March to start planning their wedding for a little over two months later. Yes, you heard correctly...two months!

Over this Memorial Day weekend, Bethany and Caleb will say their vows in front of their family and friends on the island at Freedom Park in Charlotte. Bethany, a lover of all things Anthropologie has given a baking theme to their wedding- with all sorts of sweet {yes, pun intended} handmade items.

Going with their whimsical theme, Bethany and Caleb have chosen to serve breakfast for dinner that day. Pancakes, waffles and delicious fruit. Nothin' sweeter than that...{unless you want to count the following photos by Jose...}

So looking forward to your wedding day, Bethany and Caleb!

rustic boudoir inspiration shoot {styling}

A while back I decided to expand some services at Favor Me Events beyond the planning and the designing. Photographers and clients were asking me if I styled shoots and while I hadn't thought about it at the time-- I certainly began to consider it and decided to officially add styling to my menu of services.

When Critsey Rowe of Couture Boudoir contacted me about styling a few inspiration boudoir shoots with her, I was immediately on board {and a tad nervous since I had never styled a boudoir shoot before!}

Together we came up with a few shoots and country boudoir was the first to be executed. Talk about an amazing day in the country with Critsey, gorgeous models and a barn full of all sorts of real "down on the farm" props.

Here was our inspiration...

And here is a peek of the shoot...

Stay tuned tomorrow for part II of this shoot!

bethany and caleb {once wed}

Meet FME couple, Bethany and Caleb.

Oh, goodness....where to begin? Alright, well let's just jump right in to their story...

Bethany and Caleb had been courting long distance when she entered them in to a Once Wed photography session contest. Between their insanely good looks and prayers, they won and were whisked away to Los Angeles where they were styled by Joy Thigpen {ekk!} and photographed by Jose Villa {double ekk!}

Bethany describes the moment of getting ready for the shoot as bittersweet. There she was with her adoring boyfriend, in a beautiful wedding gown, in a gorgeous setting- but it was all pretend. Or so she thought...

During one of the last shoots of the day, Caleb handed Bethany a letter {that she assumed was a prop for the shoot}. As she began to read the note, Caleb dropped to one knee and asked her to marry him- all while Jose snapped away!

In case you were wondering, Bethany said "YES"...

Stay tuned for Jose's second shoot of Bethany and Caleb as well as the sweet details for their upcoming Freedom Park wedding.

allison and matthew {carolina bride magazine}

Whew- what a windy {but gorgeous} day it is in Charlotte!

I was so happy to get my hands on the recent April/June 2011 issue of Carolina Bride and see Favor Me Event's couple Allison Avery and Matt Isenhour in the Rules of Engagement section.

Allison and Matt have quite the engagement story that involves not one- but two proposals {the ring went missing the first time around!} For the full story, be sure to pick up a copy of Carolina Bride.

The couple will be married on May 7, 2011 at Allison's families' church with the reception at the Mint Museum Uptown. Lindsey Lee Photography will be documenting the day.

Can't wait for the wedding- so excited for you both!

scm design {open house}

On February 23, Stephanie Huxter of SCM Design hosted a wine and cheese open house to celebrate the opening of her home-based studio.

When Stephanie asked me to assist with planning the open house, I was immediately on board. Not only is Stephanie crazy talented, creative, full of energy and the ultimate paper guru- but she is simply a sweetheart.

SCM Design is boutique design studio specializing in custom designed invitations, stationery and storybook albums.

I highly recommend checking out her site if you are in need of invitations, stationery or if you just love paper products!

Thank you to all local vendors that came out. It was great to see all of you!

Also, a huge thank you to Party Reflections, Lily Greenthumb's and Bella Loren Photography {who photographed the event and provided the images below}.

Thanks again, Stephanie for allowing me to help plan this successful event!
